A message from the premier

Fellow Yukoners,
Your input has helped us construct the largest budget in the history of Yukon.
Budget 2009/10 reflects our commitment to build a better quality of life for Yukoners by investing in infrastructure and our communities.
Last fall I chaired a Yukon government committee that met with Yukoners to monitor and assess economic trends and identify opportunities.
This budget includes record levels of investment in green energy, highways and bridges, water and sewer systems and other public structures that will keep our economy strong.
Investments in housing for families and seniors, health care and education will contribute to a better quality of life for Yukoners.
Through prudent fiscal management, we are projecting our government's seventh consecutive year-end surplus.
Dennis Fentie, Premier of Yukon
