The Premier and his cabinet have met and listened to Yukoners at meetings in 20 communities since this year’s community tour began in August. They have also been meeting with First Nations and municipal governments throughout Yukon.
Hearing people’s ideas and suggestions for their communities helps the government deliver programs and services that best meet Yukoners’ needs.
A priority voiced at the public meetings was the importance of continuing to support Yukon’s prosperity by expanding the economy and ensuring the availability of land.
Other common themes were education, health care and the environment, as well as infrastructure challenges facing the North, such as drinking water, waste water and the management of solid waste.
Yukoners who were unable to attend a community tour meeting and would like the premier and his cabinet to know about an important issue are encouraged to get in touch.
